Chen Style Taijiquan is an ancient fighting art that dates back over 300 years. It is primarily an internal martial art, though it contains both internal and external elements. It combines relaxation and exercise in movements that combine the qualities of hard and soft, and fast and slow.
The Chen Style of Taijiquan is noted for its martial application and vigorous forms. It features the usage of a number of weapons including the sword, broadsword, spear and stick.
Both the Lao Jia ("old frame") and Xin Jia ("new frame") methods are taught at the school, as well as the introductory 19 posture and 38 posture routines.
